Man Who Was On Naked Attraction Shares What You Have To Do In Bizarre Audition Process

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes during the filming of Channel 4's controversial dating show Naked Attraction?

Or are you keen to know what the audition process involves and how participants are selected?

If so, former contestant Gavin is here to enlighten us, with the bar manager from Edinburgh revealing exactly how the bizarre selection process unfolds.

After applying for the show - which sees one hopeful dater choosing who to go on a date with by judging six fully naked contestants on their body (with more and more being revealed each round) - Gavin travelled from Edinburgh to Newcastle to be interviewed by 'a camerawoman and a male interviewee'.

He told iNews of how the pair asked him, "Can you take your clothes off now and pitch yourself to us?" with Gavin then proceeding to do so for 45 minutes.

Despite it sounding like the stuff of nightmares for many, Gavin reassured: “It wasn’t so awkward, they made me feel at ease".

After making it through to filming - which Gavin admits isn't difficult, claiming 'it’s quite hard to get rejected, most people who apply get on' - he went to Manchester where the recording studio is based.

He said this part was particularly gruelling, describing how it takes 'from seven in the morning to three in the afternoon' to film just half an hour of television, with contestants made to wait fully naked in a box for two hours until it actually begins.

When asked how he adapted to the conditions - namely, standing around naked for such a long period of time - he revealed: “You were sweating because there was a light shining on you, but there was a draft so it was a bit cold, so there was quite a lot of shaking going on by the boys.

“Whenever the camera wasn’t on, everyone was shaking themselves to try and make themselves look bigger. I don’t feel like I put in a bad performance.”

He also revealed that contestants aren't paid for featuring on the show, leaving many questioning exactly why anyone would want to take part and bare all on national TV.

To this, Gavin explains: “It was all very good fun, good banter. It’s sort of what you get in a football dressing room, everyone taking the p**s out of themselves. Most of the people who appear on the show are quite like-minded.”

He also admitted that it can give you a confidence boost, despite him actually being evicted just two rounds in.

Taking this on the chin, Gavin said: “It’s just the way it goes. I didn’t fit the profile that she was looking for.

“She wanted a big guy, someone with tattoos and she didn’t like bodily hair, and I was the slimmest guy on the show and I’m pretty hairy, so I didn’t stand much of a chance.”

Well, he certainly sounds like a good sport.
